Edwin W. Shaar

Born in 1906 [Reichardt/Hoefer] or, more likely, in 1915 [Linotype]. An alumnus of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Shaar worked for six years with Lanston Monotype as designer and assistant to art director Sol Hess. Appointed art director at Intertype in 1950. [Inland Printer]
