Designed by David Jonathan Ross and released in January 2017 in three packages; Fit Basic, a family of ten widths; Fit Instances, 1001 numbered styles for precision fitting; and Fit Variable, an OpenType Variable Font (beta). Supplemented with a lowercase in Dec. 2024 as Fit U&lc.

The design was extended to other writing systems: Hebrew by Oded Ezer (Jan. 2018), Armenian by Gor Jihanian (Jan. 2019), Devanagari by Kimya Gandhi (Mota Italic, April 2022), Tamil by Aadarsh Rajan, and Thai by Boom, Promphan Suksumek (WIP as of Dec. 2024).
