The first issue of the “Review of Latin American photobooks” was edited by Leandro Villaro and designed by Ricardo Báez. It contains contributions by Mauricio Bruno, Alejandro León Cannock, Fredi Casco, Miguel Del Castillo, Ángeles Donoso Macaya, Lorena González Inneco, Claudia Jaguaribe, Juan Lo Bianco, Sara Maneiro Montiel, Pablo Ortíz Monasterio, Musuk Nolte, Yanet Oviedo Matos, Nelson Ramirez De Arellanos Conde, Mariela Sancari, Ken Schles, Diran Sirinian, Daniel Sosa, and Luis Weinstein.
The journal has 64 pages and measures 16.5×24.5×0.7 cm. Made from Obra 120 g/m² paper, it’s Smith sewn bound, with no cover. Printed by Akian Gráfica, Buenos Aires, in an edition of 1,000 copies, it was published by FOLA®, La Cueva Casa Editorial (ISBN: 978–987–47049–0–0).

I loved the design of SUR. Revista de Fotolibros Latinoamericanos. Ricardo Báez did a spectacular job. The typography and layout are super elegant and make the content stand out in a very artistic way. In addition, the exposed binding gives it a unique artisanal touch. It is definitely a visual and tactile gem.
