Avontuur in Azië: Vrijmetselarij als wereldwijd sociaal netwerk sinds 1734 – Andréa A. Kroon
The publication ‘Adventure in Asia. Freemasonry as a worldwide network since 1734’ accompanies an exhibition of the same name at the Vrijmetselarij Museum in The Hague. It discusses the history of lodges along the trade route to Southeast Asia and the involvement of Dutch freemasons in the East India trade. Based on my dissertation (2015) and illustrated with pieces from the historical collections of the Order of Freemasons under the Grand East of the Netherlands.
An assignment with a touch of mystery… Avontuur in Azië (“Adventure in Asia”) is an exhibition catalogue/magazine about freemasonry as a worldwide social network since 1734. The content has many layers: images, captions and different types of texts are presented as well as possible, with a fresh look and a pleasant hierarchy. Each chapter has its own color and a square can be discovered on each spread.
Trinité №2 Bold is used for the headlines. Trinité №2 Medium Italic for the intro text in each chapter as well for all captions. We picked Trinité because of its classic and noble appearance, suitable for an institute like the Vrijmetselarij Museum. The body text is typeset in TheSans as a pleasant, clear contrast to Trinité.
