A.k.a. Initiales Cristal. Designed by Rémy Peignot with the help of Adrian Frutiger. Part of the first set of typefaces printed on transfer sheets named Typophane in 1953, together with Bolide and Améthyste. Additionally produced as foundry type in 1955 and later marketed for photosetting for the Starlettograph headline compositor. [Osterer & Stamm 2008] Also carried by VGC and Formatt.
No official digitization. OPTI Crystal (Castcraft, 1990–1991) apparently was copied by Brendel as Palace (1994) and by NovelFonts as Crinoline (1994). Crystal (George Williams, 1998) adds a lowercase, but is of poor quality.
