Originally released in one style as Schneidler-Mediäval (“Schneidler Old Style”) by Bauer in 1938. [Wetzig 1926–40] Named Bauer Text for markets abroad. [Bauer ad] In 1956, an accompanying italic named Amalthea was added.
Expanded into a family with several weights including italics at Stempel in 1982, now known as Stempel Schneidler, or simply Schneidler.
