My favourite “cult” band from New York, Luna, had broken up in 2004 after more than a decade of almost hitting a sustainable crest of popularity. But in 2014 they reunited and there was a Vancouver date on the tour of 2015. I had done photos with Dean Wareham and Britta Phillips in the intervening years so I got in touch and suggested we do a limited run of signed, collectable posters in addition to the promoter’s version.

This was the result. I used a photo I’d taken on my iPhone of a used car lot in Spokane, Washington and, with some doing in Illustrator and Photoshop, I used either Helvetica or Gotham to skew and tweak into the band’s name on the sign (replacing “Used Cars”). Can anyone tell me which it was? Maybe it’s hard to tell now!

Freight Micro was used for all the essential deets!
