Published by the Universities Art Association of Canada (UAAC), RACAR is the only general art history journal in Canada. The cover of the 2020 spring issue features an 11th-century sandstone architectural fragment from South Asia (probably western India), discussed in an essay by Sarah Carter, “India and the Antiquarian Image: Richard Payne Knight’s A Discourse on the Worship of Priapus.” Sarah Carter’s essay is the recipient of the 2019 UAAC Conference Graduate Student Essay Award.
The image is overlaid by RACAR logotext in Octothorpe, a revival and expansion of Stripes, designed by Jorge Iván Moreno Majul and released by Pampatype in 2020. Cover design by Alessandro Colizzi.
