Contrast is a design studio based in New York exploring timeless classics, emotions, and stories through color, typography, and forms. The studio pursues authentic yet sustainable design that works over generations. The custom logotype was developed based on Dia because of its warmth and mildly quirky personality. Basis Grotesque is used as a primary brand typeface giving a clean timeless look—making it a white canvas that embraces a wide range of esthetics.
The shop has been built by the design duo Mingu Lee and Ethan Yu to appreciate the beauty of craftsmanship through thoughtfully curated items that make people’s home and everyday life special.
