Omnes by Darden Studio is used for the control panels of Ashdown Engineering’s instrument amplifiers. Omnes’s crisp and straightforward contemporary design is contrasted with the nostalgic Streamline — a script inspired by mid-century chrome badges — for an identity that successfully mirrors state-of-the-art technology rooted in hand-crafted tradition.
Omnes is used for labeling knobs, sliders, dials and other control elements. Its clear shapes — for letters as well as numerals — guarantee unhampered readability, while the selectively rounded details add character.
I’ve actually owned a lot of Ashdown amps. The aesthetic and logo were a tribute to Owner Mark Gooday’s love of Austin-Healey cars (logo), and other classic European cars.
“The blue panel color on the amps [ABM Series] is Austin Healey Ice Blue Metallic and the on/off buttons for the power-amps and rack-mount pre-amps are actually the starter motor buttons from a Lotus Elise.” — Mark Gooday

I never thought I would read a Fonts In Use post pointing to a guitar amplifier company. Pretty great confluence of life importance 🎸¶

Ah, of course…
