Filmotype Gaucho / Garnet

Gaucho and the narrower Garnet are part of Filmotype’s “G-series” which included a range of condensed sans serifs. Released before 1955. Copied by VGC as B-10 and B-8. Envoy (D-18), Event (D-10), Easter (D-9) are oblique variants. The uprights were issued before 1955 [Filmotype 1955]. Less boxy than Grant/Ginger/Gem and distinguished by a two-storey ‘a’. Glenlake is even more squarish.
