A photo typeface of unclear origin. Used as early as 1970. Shown in an undated Typographic Innovations specimen as Anonymous, in Solid, Outline and Shadow styles. Also shown in Berthold’s E1 catalog (1974) under the same name, with Facsimile Fonts credits. Shown in a 1974 catalog by Conways as a Lettergraphics face named Index (but not yet shown in Lettergraphics’ 1969 catalog). Shown in Castcraft’s 1978 catalog as Artistic.
