Marcel Jacno’s Chaillot in use on the cover of a book with drawings by British artist Philip Sutton (b. 1928).

The perfect-bound square format (180×180 mm) softcover has 100 pages and was printed by Shenval Press. It was published by Alan Ross Limited in 1966, as no. 9 in the London Magazine Editions, which “were a series of individual books produced to complement the magazine itself, concentrating on works by contemporary authors and artists including novels, novellas and short stories, poetry, memoirs, biographies, criticism, and travel.” [Leeds University Library] From the back cover:

Philip Sutton has had a number of one-man shows at Rowland, Browse and Delbanco. He lives in Battersea and has four children. Recently he spent a year with his family in Fiji, where most of these drawings were done.

Earlier this year, Jeremia Adatte and Małgorzata Bartosik released a commercial digitization and expansion of the rugged stencil face under the name Theatre.
