Designed by Huelsenberg Studio for Nicolai Publishing, this book series is adopting a minimalistic but striking identity. The slipcase, covers and chapters opening are typeset with the blackest weight of Suisse Int’l layered over a deep sea blue, a vivid green, or a gradient between the two, depending on its position. Following the publisher’s logo, the text content is set in Suisse Works. The Chinese title of Gert Scobel’s Nicht Denken uses PingFang.
In 2019, the seven books were awarded Most Beautiful German Books (Die Schönsten deutschen Bücher) in the General Literature category.
Suisse Int’l & Suisse Works are part of the Suisse family, available from Swiss Typefaces.
The publisher’s other book series are designed in a similar fashion, just replacing the green by an other color.
