The Gospel Keynotes were a gospel group founded by Willie Neal Johnson with long-time friends Charles Bailey, John Jackson, Lonzo Jackson, Archie B. McGee, Ralph McGee, and Rev. J.D. Talley. They started releasing records with Nashboro Records in 1964. Gospel Fire is an album from 1978.

For the cover, Dan Quest Art Studio used a band photo credited to “Burno Of Hollywood” (a malapropism of Bernard of Hollywood?). The group’s name is set in the aptly named Rhythm Bold, with the title in Shatter. The sliced-up caps here seem to visualize the blazing flames of, or the shimmering air over, the gospel fire.
