Volta

The first Clarendon typeface with a matching italic [Wikipedia]. Released by Bauer in 1956 in mager, halbfett, and fett weights, followed by a Kursiv halbfett in 1957 [Bauer index cards]. Imported to US as Fortune, and advertised as early as July 1955 [Art Director & Studio News, Vol. 7, No. 4]. Also known as Fortuna. Gans had it as Yoga. Impressum is a related text face by the same designers.

Digitizations covering all four styles by Linotype and Elsner+Flake. URW’s version (also known as Heavy Script No2) additionally has Round and Stencil variants of the Bold.
