Qatar Airways is the national airline of the State of Qatar. Operations began in 1994 when the airline was a small regional carrier serving a handful of routes. Relaunched in 1997, it has become one of the fastest growing carriers in the history of aviation. — Qatar Airways

Since 2006, the logo combines the head of an oryx, the national animal of Qatar [drawn in 1996 by Nick Cooke for a previous relaunch, see comments], with a wordmark in caps from Hermann Zapf’s Optima. When the new global brand campaign and tagline, Going Places Together, was launched in 2015, Jotia by Rebecca Hurst was introduced as the corporate typeface.

  1. Brand development and UI/UX is available at: www.mitchloewenherz.com/wor…

  2. I drew the oryx head symbol in 1996 when I worked at a company called Accent Graphics who were sub-contracted by Davies Baron, the developers of the relaunch in 1997.

  3. Thanks a lot for this addition, Nick!
