Bauhaus Prisma / Prisma Bauhaus is a
fusion of the multilined Prisma and Bauhaus-like
letterforms, in 16 variations plus 6 shaded styles.
Shown in Photo-Lettering’s Alphabet Directions No. 11 “Art
Deco” (1970) in 11 variants as Bauhaus Prismas.
The One Line catalog (1971) shows 16 all-caps variants
named A–R (omitting I, O, P), 8 of which are named
Bauhaus Prisma and 8 named Prisma Bauhaus
(for no obvious reason). Accompanied by another 6 shaded styles
(Bauhaus Prisma Shadow A–F).
Futura Prisma & Prisma Graphic is a related
series with more conventional basic forms (like in Futura), e.g. with diagonals in ‘AMNY’.
Bauhaus Prisma G is the only style with closed ends
(like Futura Prisma G). Harrison Bauhaus is a spin-off with
distorted lines.
At least one style was digitized by Photo-Lettering in 1992 as
