A series of ceramic kitchenware containers produced as part of the Crown Devon line from S. Fielding & Co. Ltd, probably in the late 1960s or early 1970s. Some online shops credit the design to iconic British fashion designer, Mary Quant, but don’t cite any sources. It’s also not clear if the designer of the floral patterns is also responsible for the text layout, which – judging by the bouncy baseline and idiosyncratic spacing of some glyphs, as well as the oddly low position of ‘i’ dots – appears to have been composed manually with dry transfer lettering or some similar process (Letraset offered dry transfer sheets of Modern No. 20).

That mutilated 'u’ in the second photo certainly seems to have been cut up and modified, too.
Looks like it might have been done to condense it, or maybe part of it is from a different letter.
