A narrow Textura, cut by Friedrich Wilhelm Bauer for the Bauer typefoundry, who released the typeface in or just before 1876. [Bauer 1937] Sold as Accidenz Gothisch schmal (later spelled Akzidenz-Gotisch schmal; also by J. John) and by Berthold as Akzidenz-Gotisch. [Wetzig 1926–40] Not to be confused with Stempel’s similar typeface of the same name.
