Part of the Historical Allsorts series, which was designed in 1992 and first appeared in Rolling Stone in 1994 [Hoefler]. Hoefler’s revival of the “Fell Types” is based on the “great primer” size (roughly 14pt) of the historic typefaces cut by Peter de Walpergen for the Oxford University Press before 1693. It includes Regular, Italic, and Small Caps styles, and is “reproduced from Notes on a Century of Typography at the University Press Oxford, 1693-1794, by Horace Hart, reproduced in facsimile with notes by Harry Carter (The Clarendon Press, Oxford, 1970.)”
