Larry Lurex was a recording pseudonym of Queen frontman Freddy Mercury. The 7″ single sleeve above was for the German release of Mercury’s cover of the Beach Boys’ “I Can Hear Music”. Both weights of Maurice Schlesinger’s Cut-In are used for the type. This single was released a year before Queen’s first album.
Actually, “I Can Hear Music” was a cover of The Ronettes since it was first released in 1966, and three years later in 1969, that’s when the Beach Boys did a cover of it
