For the cover of The Lady From Brazil, Paula Scher worked with photography by Gilles Larrain. She added dabs in red, yellow, green and blue, allowing the colorfulness of the image as well as its cheerfulness to spill over the edges. The same color dabs (minus the blue) were also used to spice up the typography, and fill the upper halves of Dolmen’s Art Deco caps.
The album of Brazilian jazz was released in 1986 by Manhattan Records. Tania Maria just turned 77 – happy birthday!
