Born from the dark corners of Europe’s underground, The Mars Model isn’t your typical new band on the block. Forged between the rain-soaked streets of Kortrijk (Belgium) and the industrial pulse of Lille (France), this cross-border collaboration pulls from a legacy of punk rebellion, hardcore grit, and raw human emotion. Their debut EP, FrancoBelga, is a statement—loud, unapologetic, and drenched in both chaos and beauty.
Behind the scenes, Dominiek De Candt – a Belgian punk pioneer (remember The Definitivos?) – dreamed up The Mars Model as a concept. He roped in Kustomtype to craft the band’s identity before the lineup was even locked in. One thing was certain: Hans was their voice, even before he realized it himself.
And it didn’t stop there. To solidify the band’s visual identity, Kustomtype went one step further by designing an exclusive typeface for the band. The result? The Mars Model font: bold, gritty, and raw, just like the music itself. It’s not just a logo; it’s a statement in every letter, capturing the band’s ethos in a unique visual style that stands out in a crowded scene.
