The 1971 edition of The Good Food Guide was issued by the publishers of Which?, the consumer protection magazine by the British organization of the same name. The cover was designed by Banks and Miles, using Pop Up, supported by Univers Condensed.

    Pop Up is derived from Univers, the typeface chosen by Banks & Miles for the Which? identity. According to a showing in Modern Publicity, it was designed by Colin Banks, possibly as a custom display variant with added long shade. In the design annual, it’s depicted with outline – just like on the food guide.

    Sometime after 1970, it was made available by London-based type provider Photoscript. Their 1973 specimen has it as Pop-Up (with hyphen), now without outline.
