That’s an outstanding find, Reybach! We previously dated Pinto Flare to c.1970, based on the earliest documented appearance. This use is proof that the typeface was available already two years earlier.
Thank you! This album had caught my eye because of its use of Pinto Flare, and I decided to put it up on here because of exactly what you said – it’s proof that Pinto was available before 1970.
Also, is the V in “Eivets” custom? Because I haven’t seen that in the glyph set at all.
Maybe! This form is not included in the glyph sets I’ve seen. It’d be an easy-to-make customization. But it’s impossible to say if, for example, this overview shows all available glyphs – without having access to the original film font.
