This is the fifth single by Japanese singer-songwriter Yumi Arai. It is also the lead single from her album Cobalt Hour, released four months later. The song “Rouge No Dengon” is most notably remembered as the opening theme for the Studio Ghibli film Kiki’s Delivery Service, directed by Hayao Miyazaki in 1989.

The song title along with the coupling song are set in a fine weight of Nāru (ナール), while the artist’s name is set in a medium weight (中) of Ishii Mincho (石井明朝).

On the back cover, the Japanese text uses a bold weight (太) of the sans serif Ishii Gothic (石井ゴシック). Meanwhile, the serif typeface is a fine weight (細) of Ishii Mincho. The tracklisting of her latest album at that time, MISSLIM, is set in Futura.

The photographer is unknown and not credited on the jacket.
