This is the fourth studio album by Japanese singer-songwriter Toshiki Kadomatsu. The artwork photo was taken on Midtown Manhattan. After 5 Clash is one of his highly sought-after albums by city-pop enthusiasts. Due to its popularity, some resellers offer it at a high price. The album title on the front cover is set in the only variant of VGC’s Emphasis which is an italic typeface.
The back cover with track names and personnel credits is set in Kaufmann Bold. The text at the lower portion uses a demibold weight of Helvetica, while the price “¥2,800” is in a bold weight of Univers resembling Univers 75. Lastly, the Japanese serif/mincho typeface is mostly likely set in a medium weight of Ishii Mincho called Ishii Chū Minchō (石井中明朝).

Emphasis also kinda reminds me of Filmotype Earl? Also, I didn’t expect that this Photo Typositor title is written in Filmotype Earl
Photo Typositor Inc. was the precursor of VGC (Visual Graphics Corporation), and the Photo Typositor machine the heart of their business.
Before the mid-1960s, the company didn’t have any typeface designs of their own. Their machine was built to use the same font format – 2-inch film strips – that competitor Filmotype pioneered in the 1950s. They copied the whole Filmotype library – including Earl – so that their customers could start using the Photo Typositor. You can see specimen sheets with more Filmotype typefaces on page 6 of that brochure. In late 1964, VGC started sourcing new typeface designs through competitions. Emphasis is among the first designs that sprang from these.
