On the occasion of the 2024 Ice Hockey World Championship in the Czech Republic, the National Gallery Prague presented an exhibition titled Na led! / Get on the Ice! that opened up the theme of skating and hockey in visual art.
The exhibition featured approximately 100 works of art using various techniques. There were paintings by old masters such as Pieter Brueghel the Younger and Norbert Grund, as well as by the most prominent figures of 19th-century Czech art and with a section dedicated to nine contemporary artists who have created new works relating to hockey.
The visual identity, exhibition graphics, printed matter and exhbition catalogue used two typefaces. PUQ was created by Slovakian type designer Simona Császárová for her bachelor project 170 gramov šťastia (“170 grams of happiness”). This typeface is based on the strokes of in the shape of hockey sticks. FK Screamer by Florian Karsten is used for headlines.
