Alex Foss Sims and Theo Garcia are the founders of Solo, a startup focused on pre-made coffee. The two met while working as baristas. In their own words:

The name comes from the Spanish “Café Solo”, directly translated as “just coffee” which is the name given to black coffee or espresso. We think there’s something powerful about doing one thing well. Simplifying, not complicating. We’re not interested in trying to do everything. We’ll focus on doing our one thing well, so our customers can focus on doing their one thing well.

Recognizing the exclusivity often associated with modern coffee culture, marked by complex jargon and elitism, Solo aims to break that mold. Alex and Theo are not interested in discussing varietals, altitudes, or terroir. Instead, they seek to celebrate both the coffee and the inspiration it sparks in those who drink it.

Their website is set in Ufficio Sans, supported by Helvetica. The company logo as well as the packaging use Jean-Luc (with omitted tittles).
