Dieter Fortes Lesewelten is a special exhibition shown by the Heinrich-Heine-Institut in Düsseldorf. From the website (translated from the German):
Dieter Forte (1935–2019) is one of the most important writers of our time. He wrote incredibly effective plays, radio plays and television films, and his novels, in particular the Tetralogy of Memory, are highly acclaimed. On the occasion of the 5th anniversary of his death, never before presented archive material from the estate of the Heinrich Heine Institute illustrates the life and work of the Düsseldorf-born writer – a “hermit in good company”, as he liked to characterize himself. Examples from an extensive library, manuscripts, letters, photographs and films repeatedly shed light on his work with words, his sensitive narration of life and contemporary stories: very personal worlds of reading.
