I believe West Grandanos (similar to West Italiano) was used in the 1972 book House of the Deadly Nightshades by Lyda Belknap Long and already in 1967 for Cloud Over Malverton by Nancy Buckingham.
In 1969, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë used West Italiano
