The Shame was a short-lived band from Bournemouth, England. One of the members, Greg Lake (1947–2016) later became famous as a founding member of the progressive rock bands King Crimson and Emerson, Lake & Palmer.

In September 1967, at the end of the Summer of Love, The Shame released their only single, “Too Old To Go ’Way Little Girl”, with MGM Records. It was distributed in North America by Poppy Records, who advertised the record with a flower power theme, complete with an organic-looking typeface nicked from German Jugendstil: Arnold Böcklin. The ad appeared in Record World, no. 1066 from November 11, 1967.
