From Wikipedia:

Walmart Inc. is an American multinational retail corporation that operates a chain of hypermarkets (also called supercenters), discount department stores, and grocery stores in the United States, headquartered in Bentonville, Arkansas. The company was founded by brothers Sam and James “Bud” Walton in nearby Rogers, Arkansas in 1962 and incorporated under Delaware General Corporation Law on October 31, 1969. It also owns and operates Sam’s Club retail warehouses.

The Walmart logo was designed at Lippincott, based on Myriad, with modifications. It has been in use since June 2008. On this occasion, Walmart published a timeline of their logo evolution: Walmart’s first official and consistently used logo debuted in 1964, featuring “Frontier” style letterforms. It was abandoned in 1981 in favor of a more modern version using all-caps Antique Olive. The wordmark initially had a hyphen (“WAL-MART”), which in 1992 was replaced by a star.

For a while, Myriad was also used (in unmodified form) as the main brand font. As of 2024, Walmart uses a custom font named Bogle. Based on Brandon Text, it was designed by HvD Fonts for Turner Duckworth’s 2017 redesign.
