Today Louis CK released Tomorrow Night, a black-and-white film he made in 1998. As he has done with his comedy specials, it’s availabe directly from his website for $5. He describes it:

Tomorrow Night is a feature-length film I wrote and directed back in 1998. I was a struggling comedian and TV writer at the time and I pulled together my savings and some of my friends money to make this movie on black and white 16mm film. There are some great people in this movie: Steve Carell, JB Smoove, Wanda Sykes and Conan O’Brien are some that you might have heard of.

Fans of his FX show, Louis, have surely noticed the use of Cooper Black for its opening titles. And his 2011 Comedy Central record, Hilarious, also uses Cooper Black. So it appears he’s always had a thing for this font. And it fits. The very qualities of Cooper — soft; playful; blatant; considered — could easily define him, too.
