Cultural Events Calendars 2024
The cultural events calendars constitute a series comprising four editions for four different cities (Barra Longa, Mariana, Santa Cruz, Rio Doce), created upon invitation from the Renova Foundation. The purpose behind the creation of each calendar is to establish records marking the dates of characteristic cultural manifestations in each locality. This initiative aims to highlight a range of events in these cities, reinforcing the ancestral nature of these cultural expressions that persist in the lives of residents, even in the face of the impacts resulting from the dam collapse in Mariana, Minas Gerais, in 2015.
For the typographic choices, we opted to use rounded fonts inspired by 20th-century Catholic calendars, found in books and archives of the history of design and Brazilian graphic memory. These references are due to the fact that many of the events are Catholic festivities.
