Italian design studio Bluelabs designed the new website of Museo Cappella Sansevero. Like the museum, the website – and its typeface selection – aim to evoke the baroque era and its ideas.
From Bluelabs (translated from Italian):
Those who at least once in their lives have visited the Sansevero Chapel Museum know it: every corner, decoration or sculpture on which the gaze rests, sparks wonder. We wanted to transfer this halo of beauty and mystery even within the digital pages of the Museum and, to do so, we dived for months and months in the study of the Baroque. We have re-emerged with a surprising and accessible site, in which aesthetic choices accompany a complete and immersive browsing experience. Just like a real visit to the chapel.

Baroque is spatial liberation, liberation from conventions, elementary geometries and static. That’s why we chose to translate this liberation also into the pages of the site through an open design, based on plastic shapes and curved lines, spatial sinuosity, scenographic accentuation and evocative plays of light and shadow. The templates of the various sections present dynamic and asymmetrical solutions that generate a new and surprising composition.
