The Stuttgart-based design practice Studio Tillack Knöll was responsible for the communication design for the exhibition Utopie Heimat (Home—A Utopia), which included printed ephemera (flyer, poster, banner) as well as digital media (website, social media images, motion graphics). The exhibition took place from 16 September to 20 November 2022 at the Städtische Galerie der Stadt Villingen-Schwenningen and was curated by Stephan Rößler und Carolin Wurzbacher. The deliverables were set in HAL Timezone, published by HAL Typefaces.
From the exhibition’s website:
Home—there is hardly a term more omnipresent in our everyday lives. But where exactly can this ubiquitous place actually be found? And is it even a singular location? Is it not rather an undetermined place of (childhood) memories or a subjective place of longing consisting of bygone dreams, hopes and yearnings?
Exploring differential artistic positions, this anniversary year’s thematic art exhibition departs on an open search of this wishful non-place and homey safe haven.
