In l’Anomalie Undertale, Corentin Benoit-Gonin sets up to decipher Undertale – one of the most influential games of the past decade. Published by Third Edition in their First Print imprint, the book contains no images whatsoever so the layout was designed to be functional but also to bring a more dynamic reading experience.

The title page and the opening pages show a digitalization of the letterings used in the fighting menu of Undertale. The texts are set in Kernevel, and the surrounding typography (running titles, captions, etc.) uses Dada Grotesk Bold.

The game istelf features typographic interventions that are reproduced in the book (set in Comic Sans). Read more about the game interface in a previous post on Fonts In Use: Undertale dialogue and interfaces.

The book cover was designed by Sedeto.
