TEll A ViSiON – TEll A ViSiON album art
Playtype's Italian Plate No1 and Italian Plate No7 in use by Hamburg based studio other types for the vinyl cover of artist TEll A ViSiON’s self-titled album, released with Duchess Box Records.
The designers write:
TEll A ViSiON (fka Tellavision) transforms abstract events into expressionistic sounds. The artist combines surreal silence with pulsating Euro-American art-pop.
Together with photographer Tim Bruening, we designed a characterful cover that reflects the music and forms a strong image for the album campaign. We developed an artificial, surreal room in which the artist plays her part in her eccentric, peculiar world. The room itself appears distorted and familiar perspectives are overcome.
The typography is strong in character and at the same time playful. It is characterised by graphic forms, supporting the imagery of the cover photo. The arrangement of the text content is similar – different font sizes and cuts create a three-dimensionality and distortion.
On the inner sleeve you will find the lyrics – these are also arranged graphically. The play of colours visualises the complexity of the music and contrasts the white of the cover.
