Coronet Bold and Vogue Extra Bold are the typefaces used by Stephen Haas for the cover of an undated record (late 1940s?) by Emery Deutsch and his orchestra, released by Varsity Records. There were several versions of this record, with the same basic sleeve design, but different colors.
Born in Hungary in 1904 (or 1906) as Imre Deutsch, he came to the United States with his family at the age of eight and grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. After graduating from the Juilliard School of Music, Deutsch embarked on a musical career that spanned over 60 years.The violinist and songwriter and orchestra leader served as the music director of CBS from 1929 to 1940. He died in 1997 in Miami, Florida.
