Breuninger Magazin, a publication by the luxury multi-brand German store by the same name, underwent a visual redesign by God save the screen. Graphic research, art direction by Mariela Montiel, and photography by Kristian Schuller. Romie (designed by Margot Lévêque) is used alongside the store’s brand typeface Sofia.

  1. Is this a realized design, or rather a concept (an unused pitch, an unsolicited redesign)? I’m asking because the current issue of Breuninger Magazin looks quite different. The issues from autumn/winter 2021 – the season for which the shown design was made – don’t use Romie either, see Nos. 6 and 8. The repeating bits like “mark name: product / brand: accessory” look like placeholder text.

I have added the “unrealized” tag for now. For future submissions, please note that our focus is on real-world uses. Thanks!

  2. Addendum: On their Instagram, God save the screen describe this as “work in progress… layout research”.
