  1. That single-glyph idea on the tote bag shown in the last image didn’t age well. Not something one would want to carry on the streets of Europe, knowing that many Ukrainian refugees might get a wrong impression. Of course neither the designer or the client could anticipate that a single letter Z would become a symbol for the Russian aggression against Ukraine a few years later. It’s a shame that a plain letter can acquire such a bad rep.

    At least this application has nothing to do with Russia’s war. In March 2022, German newspaper Die Zeit was criticized for a lack of tactfulness when they placed their (standard) Z initial on top of a portrait of Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

  2. Didn’t know about that Florian, what a pity! But indeed, it was designed way before the war in Ukraine. Not sure how long a bad reputation of a letter can last.
