Black Mountains College, founded by writers Ben Rawlence and Owen Sheers, has been described as the world’s first climate change university. The college offers a single degree; (BA Hons) Sustainable Futures: Arts, Ecology, and Systems Change. Design studio Colour / Format was commissioned to design and produce a printed prospectus to accompany the course website.
The design scheme aims to deliver a non-trivial message in an accessible and engaging way, and to achieve dynamism through the interplay of type and image. The magazine informality is deliberate; to differentiate from incumbent institutions’ prospectuses.
Printed on FSC-approved papers in the UK.
