One of a number of journals related to advertising, Impact was issued by the Buland Publishing Company of London and this, issue 20, was dedicated to the new commercial television market that had just started in the UK and that was reliant on advertising.

The cover design showing a roof top silhouette and of birds bearing television aerials is by Geoff M Sadler, who was the magazine’s art editior, and is based on photograms by Ken Simmons.

The journal’s title is set in Imre Reiner’s Floride, a set of striped and shaded caps first cast by Deberny & Peignot in 1939.

This double page advert is again centred on television aerials, required to pick up the transmitted signal, and was issued by Associated-Rediffusion who held the ITV franchise for weekdays in the London area. It is a plea to advertisers to use the new medium of television adverts carried by Channel 9.
