Slim Whitman (1923–2013) was an American country music singer-songwriter and guitarist known for his yodeling abilities and his use of falsetto. During a career that spanned over seven decades, he sold over 70 million records.
His Christmas Album was originally released on Imperial Records in 1969 (see below). The image above shows a reissue from 1980 by Liberty Records, with largely unchanged album art. The title is set right-aligned in tightly spaced caps from Basilea (VGC, circa 1967). Song names are in the similar Optima (Stempel, 1958). See Here’s Brenda Lee! from 1967 for another album that uses this typeface combination.
