My Wife Next Door (1972) titles
My Wife Next Door was an award-winning BBC TV sitcom, based on the unusual premise of a husband and wife in the midst of a divorce happening to end up living next door to each other in a pair of semi-detached cottages near Stoke Poges. It was created by Brian Clemens and Richard Waring and starred John Alderton and Hannah Gordon in the roles, respectively, of George and Suzy Basset, which premiered fifty years ago to the day of this font use submission being compiled, at 8.30 pm on BBC One on Tuesday 19th September 1972, with the episode entitled “The Nearness Of You”. It ran for thirteen episodes until Tuesday 12th December 1972, concluding with the episode “Joint Assignment”. These titles, from Episode Eight, entitled “Undesirable Residence”, originally broadcast on Tuesday 7th November 1972 – hence the artwork date – are set in bold weight and in cyan, in Eurostile.
