Series of 1986 print advertisements from Toyota showcasing its new Celica ST Sport Coupe, Corolla FX 16, MR2 and Supra automobiles. The designer/s of these ads is unknown.
All headings and subs are set in Earth, or an variant thereof which is not currently known. Glyphs appearing here are of a more solid variation, as compared to its listed appearance. Featured throughout is an upright A, which may be custom. It could be easily made by inverting a V and adding a crossbar. A similar modification also appears in another use. The K and Y, similarly, might also be custom creations specific to this use. Several other uses have shown off this variant of Earth, which suggests that either additional glyphs or an alternate version existed.
The outlined/contoured lettering used for the car model names also appears to be based on Earth. The Toyota logo and additional body text looks to be set in Helvetica. The Supra Pace Car, seen in one of the ads, features decals set in Handel Gothic.

100% good find, indeed. Is there a copies available?
Overall impressed. My digital has all of the other characters as seen on these pages and other places. I had to shelve it for a while due to health issues. I will finished it off and post some previews. No mine is no Gary’s modified. Mine direct from the source material.
Thanks John! Best of luck with the font.
