This is a favourite project for a Vancouver new music saxophone quartet lead by Colin MacDonald. It is a CD release poster for his group Saxophilia, a name which fairly demanded the immediate use of Marian Bantjes’ and Ross Mills’ ornate and sensual Restraint! The always reliable and cleanly elegant Gotham was used to counter it.
The photograph came from the CD cover session I did for the project and involves the use of intentional camera movement over an ornately engraved saxophone belonging to Colin.
