Christian and Daniela Gerges run a medical practice in the south of Austria. Inspired by their indulgence for art, we developed an identity that is loosely inspired by art.
We chose a pattern similar to the well-known art folder designs, and deliberately transferred this connotation into the medical context. Together, the two doctors offer a wide range of medical services—from infectiology and nephrology to cardiology—so we edited and designed a folded brochure to provide the most important patient information at a glance.
Walter Neue is a special typeface by Dinamo and Omnigroup, which is a digitization of various old sources. For this project, we were looking for an unobtrusive, yet distinctive typeface, which would allow us to add a playful, but important detail: since Christian and Daniela Gerges are both representing the brand with their respective areas of expertise, we wanted to give their individual “GERGES” a subtly different appearance. Thus, you can notice two alternatives of the R in the logotype.
Through intensive research, we found the right paper stock to design embossed business cards, which were produced by print specialists Herz & Co in Vienna. The two doctors could choose their favorite color from a curated palette that we selected for their brand Gerges Gerges. The stationery, as a paraphrase of the white cube, provides a minimalist background for the colorful elements of the corporate design.
Works of art in medical practices are often of dubious quality and rarely match the visual identity. From the very beginning, we have embraced the artworks on-site as part of the concept and have therefore created a limited series of large format screenprints (printed by Print Affaires), which add to the atmosphere in the practice whilst serving as a recognizable brand element.
